Title Search
KEYWORD(S) TITLE
You may enter full or part words when searching for a serial title. Part words are specified by adding "*" to the end of the string: Chromatog* would match on any words starting with "CHROMATOG" (e.g. chromatographia chromatographic chromatography etc)

KEYWORD(S) PUBLISHER
You may enter full or part words for a publisher name. Part words are specified by adding "*" to the end of the string.

ISSN
If you know the ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) please enter it here. There is no need to enter the hyphen.

DEWEY CLASSIFICATION
You can search by either a specific Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) number: e.g. 150 or you can use "*" as a wildcard and search for all titles that have the prefix that you enter: e.g. 150*.

KEYWORD(S) SUBJECT
There are in excess of 950 subject categories recorded in this database. You can use the "*" wildcard symbol at the end of a word or part word to ensure that you have included the full range of subjects possible.

SEARCH
After entering your search criteria select this button to commence search. If your search locates only one record then Title Search Details will be displayed and you will not be presented with the Title Search Results screen.

Title Search Results

This area displays the results of your search request, listing any entered criteria, in alphabetical order by title. Some results may have an "i" in a circle, this indicates that the record has a description associated with it.

This screen displays information relating to the title selected from the Title Search Results screen. The list of fields detailed below constitutes the maximum that are available. However, some records may not include all of the fields of data, as there is currently no information available.

Order Placement

INVOICE CODE/INVOICE TO CODE/DELIVER TO CODE
Use the arrow in the box to display all available options, simply select the appropriate code.

  • Invoice Code - Where the statement is sent.
  • Invoice to Code - Where the invoice is sent.
  • Deliver to Code - Where the journal issues are sent.

STANDING ORDER/ANNUAL RENEWAL
Please select your preference, a Standing Order will remain in place until we receive your instruction to cancel, whereas an Annual Renewal will be dependent on your advice to continue from one year to the next.

ISSN
If you know the ISSN (International Standard Serial Number), please enter it here to ensure that the correct title will be ordered on your behalf.

PUBLISHER
If you know the publisher of the journal you are ordering, please enter their name here.

VOL & ISSUE REQUIREMENTS
Please enter your specific requirements for either a set subscription period, e.g. Calendar Year only, or for a back/special issue. (Subject to subscription period conditions of supplier)

DELIVERY SERVICE OPTION

Overseas Consolidation - Issues from the UK, USA and Europe are consolidated at a central point in each of those regions and shipped by Air each week to DA Information Services.

Accessioning - Issues from around the globe are shipped direct to DA Information Services for checking in and supply supported by an itemised report. We will also claim on your behalf if issues are overdue.

End Processing - This service is available in conjunction with Accessioning and provides for each journal issue to have any of the following:

  • Call Label
  • Circulation List
  • Security Strip
  • Ownership Stamp /Label

ORDER
Select this button to add your order to the trolley. Make sure you review the contents of your trolley before finishing this current session and select the Send Order button to submit your orders.

View Trolley

Here you will be able view brief details in relation to all orders you have placed whilst in the current session. You have the ability to delete any line item by clicking the cursor in the box on the left-hand side of the screen. When you are ready to lodge your order simply select the Send Order button. You will be prompted with a reminder that you still have items in your trolley if you log out your session before sending your order.

View Subscriptions

DA SUBSCRIPTION CODE
To locate one of your subscriptions in our care, enter DA's unique identifier, making sure to include the forward slash, e.g. 123456/10001

SEARCH
After entering your search criteria select this button to commence search. If you wish to retrieve all your subscriptions, press the Search button without entering any criteria. If your search locates only one record then Subscription Details will be displayed and you will not be presented with the Subscription Search Results screen.

Subscription Search Results

This area displays the results of your search request, listing any entered criteria, in alphabetical order by title. Some results may have the term "[Linked Titles]" in them, which indicates that additional titles are associated with the listed main title. You will have access to view these Linked Titles after you have selected the appropriate line item from the list of results.

Subscription Details

This area displays subscription details for the latest and up to 3 previous subscription periods, as applicable, relating to the title selected from the "Subscription Search Results" screen. You have the ability to enter claims against the subscription by selecting the "Place Claim" button. You also have the ability to view existing claim details by selecting the "View Claim" button if available. If your subscription is being either Accessioned or Consolidated you will have the ability to view accessioning details. If applicable you will also have the ability to edit both Call Numbers and Circulation Lists. All these actions are easily achieved by selecting the appropriate buttons on the screen: "Accessioning", "Call numbers" or "Circul. Lists". From this screen you will be able to view Linked Titles, if applicable, by selecting the "Linked Titles" button. This will also enable you to carry out the functions in the paragraphs above, if applicable, for the displayed title.

Accessioning Details

This screen displays volume and issue due dates as well as Customer Accessioning Report numbers and the dates the reports were generated. The entry of report dates and numbers signals that the issue has been accessioned and is in transit for delivery to site. This screen may also display Claim numbers and the date the claim was first produced. To view details of the claim simply click on the claim number.

Call Number Maintenance

To effect changes to your call numbers on this screen, for each copy of your subscription, please select the "Update" button before leaving this page.

Circulation List Maintenance

To effect changes to your circulation lists on this screen, for each copy of your subscription, please select the "Update" button before leaving this page.

Claim Entry

CLAIM ADDRESS
Use the arrow in the box to display all available options. Simply select the appropriate code and the corresponding claim address will be displayed at the top of the screen.

COPIES
Enter the number of copies for which you are claiming.

TYPE
Use the arrow in the box to display your options and simply select the appropriate one.

REASON
Please indicate here the reason for the claim if the type of claim is other than missing as this will enable us to convey to the supplier the exact nature of your claim.

CLAIM FOR
Indicate here the volume and issue detail/s of your claim.

COMMENT
Enter any additional information that will assist in the registration of your claim.

CLEAR
Quickly clears the screen of all previously entered data enabling you to enter new claim details.

SUBMIT
After entering your claim details select this button to register your claim.

View Claims

In order to view your claims you will need to either locate a subscription that the claim relates to or search by the DA claim number. Enter your selected search criteria in the fields listed below.

ORDER REF
Enter your order number here.

DA SUBSCRIPTION CODE
To locate claim/s associated with a particular subscription simply enter the DA subscription code, making sure to include the forward slash, e.g. 123456/10001

DA CLAIM NUMBER
To locate a specific claim enter the DA claim number which is the unique identifier of your claim record. This number is printed at the top right-hand corner of claim correspondence.

CLEAR
Quickly clears the screen of all previously entered data enabling you to enter new search criteria.

SEARCH
After entering your search criteria select the Search button to commence search. If you wish to retrieve all your claims, press the Search button without entering any criteria. If your search locates only one record then Claim Details will be displayed and you will not be presented with the Claim Search Results screen.

Claim Search Results

Each line item on the screen represents an individual claim. This area displays the results of your search request, listing any entered criteria, in alphabetical order by title. Some results may have the term "[Linked Titles]" in them, which indicates that additional titles are associated with the listed main title.

Claim Details

This screen displays information relating to the claim selected from the Claim Search Results screen.

Claim History

This screen will trace the history of a claim and allow you to view any correspondence that has been supplied to you. Select "[View]" for the line item of your choice.

Log Out

Select this menu option when you have finished using the DA Serials Management Services.
